Suzuki Cello Barcelona

Amaia Ruano, cellist and pedagogue
I studied to become a cellist with wonderful teachers like Gary Hoffman, Lluis Claret, Monique Bartels and Maria de Macedo. Being still a student I discovered pedagogy and developed a passion for it.
As a professional cellist I had and have the privilege to play in different orchestras and chamber groups like the Verbier Chamber Orchestra or the Barcelona Modern Project among others.
As a pedagogue I was a cello teacher at the Barcelona Conservatory from 2006 to 2012, and the Castellbisbal Music School from 2006 until nowadays. I tought at the JFK School in Berlin from 2014 to 2015. I am a certified Suzuki Method teacher having studied with Ruben Rivera and Chantal Latil in Lyon, France. I also studied Early Childhood Music Education in Barcelona, Spain, with Eulalia Abad who was a fountain of inspiration and knowledge.
I am a mother of two wonderful little ladies who keep me busy and make me very happy.
